New Programs

Canning 101- 9/9 5:30 pm: Learn how to preserve your summer harvest! Join Erica Moses as she teaches how to utilize canning as a means of food preservation! We will cover both water bath and pressure canning methods. Registration Required.

Jeopardy- 9/11 6:00 pm: Join us for a fun evening of Jeopardy! This is a family friendly event with questions for all generations. Teams of any size can play! No Registration required.

Punch Needle Wall Hanging- 9/22 5:30 pm: Join local artist Jennifer Thomas in this embroidery class! Punch needle art is a type of embroidery that involves using a special needle to thread loops of yarn into fabric to create pattern and texture. This traditional craft goes back to the 15th century. Learn how to use the punch needle and turn your design into a wall hanging.

Registration is required. Please call 585-384-5170 to sign up. Materials provided free of charge. Ages 16+

This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes.

Marilyn by Tripp Opening Reception 10/1 6:00- 7:00pm: Join us for the opening reception of the “Marilyn by Tripp” photography show. The show features photos taken by “Coach Tripp” from Korea in 1954 of Marilyn Monroe.

Adult Programming

Bone Builders- Every Tuesday & Thursday at 9:00am: A free exercise class for seniors.

Mahjong- Every Tuesday at 10:00am: Join us for a friendly game of American Mahjong. Adult/Senior program.

Studio Art-9/28 at 5:30pm: Studio Art is a creative club designed for adults who long for the simple joy of art class—fresh supplies, playful projects, and that magical feeling of making something just because it feels good. This monthly program brings back the nostalgia of the art room, but with the freedom, humor, and zero‑pressure atmosphere we appreciate as adults.

This month’s project we will be making folk art inspired bookmarks with cut paper.

Book Club- THURSDAY 9/24 12:00pm: This month’s book club pick is The Last House on the Street by Diane Chamberlain. Join us for light refreshments and discussion on THURSDAY 9/24 at 12:00pm. Diane Chamberlain will be joining us virtually at the meeting for an author talk.

Teen and Tween Programs:

Teen Time – Friday, September 4th at 6:00 pm: Teen-only hangout on the first Friday of the month!

Join us this month for mini golf at the library!

Kids Programs:

Storytime- Every other Thursday at 4:00pm: Join us for a read aloud picture book and craft/activity. Ages 0-5

Sit, Stay, Read!– Opposite Thursdays at 4:00pm: Early readers come and practice reading aloud with a service dog. Ages 6-14.

Library Little Ones: Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9:30-11:30 am. Drop-in weekly play group for children and caregivers. Each week we will have a different topic, theme or activity for kids to explore.

All Ages

Creative Community: Join us the 3rd Wednesday of the month for a craft adaptable for all ages and abilities. This month we will be making butterflies out of different fall scented materials including dried oranges, cinnamon and more.

Take & Make: A take home kit available at the front desk. Each kit contains materials to make the monthly craft at home. This month’s craft is beaded caterpillars.

Patchwork Neighbors- 9/19 at 10:00am: All ages, skill levels, and neighbors are invited to come together and sew lap quilts for a shared community project. Finished blankets will be donated to local cancer patients through Noyes Cancer Center.

We have multiple sewing machines available for use. If you have your own machine you are encouraged to bring it with you. No sewing experience required. We are group of crafters willing to teach others the skills necessary to get you started in sewing.
